Valentine...You're the Bomb!

Pin It Now!

I don't particularly enjoy picking out valentine cards.  Let's face it...they are a bit cheesy, and as the kids get a bit older, finding age appropriate ones get harder.  Here is an easy no-fail valentine that both my second grader and fourth grader are diggin'.  What's even better is they can help put them together and most items can be found at the dollar store (not the Dum-Dums, ewww food from the dollar store).

 You will need:

-pack of black napkins
-bag of red foil shred or any thin red ribbon
-bag of Dum-Dums
-gift tags (Hobby-Lobby)

Simply cut through all 4 layers of napkin into a circle.  Place Dum-Dum in center, pull up all the edges of a single layer of napkin and tie off with the string from your tag.  Make sure to have the kiddos write on the tags first.  Then add the red ribbon in a knot.  Wham Bam Ka-Boom!  You're done.  That's all!  Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Girls are the Prettiest

Pin It Now!

Truth be told...I am addicted to Pinterest.  My love affair began in December or 2010 and hasn't even begun to wane.  If you don't know what Pinterest is, you can catch up from a prior post What the Heck is Pinterest!.  One of my boards is titled "My Style"...otherwise known as stuff I will never be able to afford or stuff that will never look good on me, but I can dream.

Take for instance this beautiful, casual ensemble.  This was pinned onto my board, but really I will never wear theses $230 skinny black pants and rock them like this plastic model.  Uh, duh!  It is a plastic model...should have been my first clue.  Plus I have 4 kids and likely won't be able to coordinate all my jewelry.  If so, my wee one would likely rip those $88 hoops out so fast that there would be blood on that adorable (only $24) distressed denim shirt.  And the boots....aaaahhh, I would love the boots, but I couldn't fathom spending $410 on such a statement item.  I would have to wear them every day which means I would have to have a new outfit for each day as well.  Did I already mention that I don't own skinny jeans/pant/leggings/jeggings etc!

Argghhh!  Just thinking of it gets me worked up...then I remembered something else I pinned on my "My Style" board...

...and a smile is so much easier to wear!
