What the Heck is Pinterest!?

Pinterest has got to be my most favorite thing at the moment. My love for Pinterest grew out of a need to be doing something while I nursed...something that only needed one hand and wouldn't create a lot of movement. My son had colic, so when he would eat and stay calm, I did not want to disturb the beast. I received an invite for Pinterest and my addiction began.

Pinterest is defined as a social catalogue to collect and share the things you love. It's a virtual pinboard of sorts.Traditionally when you find a web page you liked, you would bookmark the page. With Pinterest you Pin the page by selecting a picture...it's a visual collection of those photos that drew you to a particular web page or blog in the first place. You can create several boards or categories to Pin to. Each pin has its URL attached to it for quick access to that page. You can re-pin Pins from other members boards to your own as well. You can also tag your friends on Pinterest just as you do in Facebook. If I pin something that I think a friend would like, I just type @insertnamehere, and they are tagged. This is a great tool if you are a blogger...inspiration GALORE!!! Here is a screen shot of my board entitled Birthday Ideas.
